Caring for cashmere properly is essential to maintain its luxurious softness and longevity.
Soak:
Fill a basin with lukewarm water (20°C/70°F), add a small amount of cashmere detergent or baby shampoo, and stir. Soak the garment for 10-15 minutes. Gently rub to remove dirt or stains, avoiding excessive soaking and rubbing. Rinse thoroughly, gently squeeze out excess water without wringing or twisting.
Dry:
Lay the cashmere item flat on a clean, dry towel. Reshape the item to its original dimensions and leave it to air dry.
For quick drying, you may roll the garment slowly with a towel. Gently press to remove water, then straighten and lay it flat to dry. Never tumble dry or hang cashmere pieces.
Iron:
If ironing, use a steam iron with adjusted temperature. Set up the steam function, maintaining a 0.5-1cm (0.2-0.4in) gap between the iron and cashmere garment.
Storage:
When storing, neatly fold cashmere items to prevent wrinkles. For long-term storage, use breathable garment bags, cotton pillowcases, or a box to protect the fabric. Since cashmere attracts moths, we recommend placing a moth repellent or cedar blocks in the box.
Pilling:
If your cashmere garment is pilling, don't worry—it's natural. Pilling occurs when fiber balls gather due to friction. Easily remove them with a cashmere comb or by picking them off by hand.
